His novel "Lalun The Beragun" depicting the Battle of Panipat was published in complete form in 1884. It was published in part in 1879.
Though not mentioned by the Cambridge History of English Literature, the novel could be one of the three earliest novels of Indo-Anglian fiction. (ii) As a historical novel, it could occupy the first place for being the earliest, if its position as such is accepted by the critics and literary historians.
His works are considered to date for remaking or other artistic projects.
