Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Chris Columbus' 2001 British-American fantasy picture Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which was also released in certain other countries as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is based on J. K. Rowling's book of the same name. The first installment in the Harry Potter movie series was written by Steve Kloves, and David Heyman oversaw the production. The plot centers on Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts, during which he learns that he is a well-known wizard and starts his magical training.

Lord Voldemort was portrayed by J.K. Rowling as a self-hating bully in a 2000 interview with the BBC."Well, I think the biggest bullies frequently take what they perceive to be their own flaws and put them on someone else before trying to destroy the other, and that's what Voldemort does," said the author.

Gothic elements in children's literature look better. The beginning of the movie has the perfect gothic atmosphere thanks to the owl, cat, night, eerie old Dumbledore, and hideous Hagrid.

The placement of Harry by the trio of Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Hagrid in the care of Harry's maternal aunt and uncle is reminiscent of the birth of Jesus Christ and the three Magi.

It's possible to view magic as a knowledge metaphor.

No matter how talented one is, a magical wand can never make struggle, pain, agony, sadness, or anxiety go away. They must be dealt with and won over.

The positive connotation of the term "Wizard" and the negative and pejorative connotation of the term "Witch" may be called into question by feminist interpretation.

In a similar way, Hermione Granger, despite being smart and saving the day for her male counterparts, is nonetheless 'bookish' and lacks 'practical and worldly understanding'. "Books, cleverness... that's okay," she says. There are more crucial matters. friendship and courage. She appears incapable of Harry's bravery and Ron's sacrifice. She excels in class and library work but struggles on the field; she is a spectator during Quidditch and can't handle the broom well. For feminist readers, this representation presents serious issues.

The Sorting Hat identifies Harry as talented, intelligent, and driven to succeed. But Snape scolds him, saying, "Fame isn't everything." One must establish their worth. While others read family letters, Harry reads the newspaper.

In this movie, there are several magical items, including a stone that can be used to create an immortality potion, an invisible cloak, and a mirror that reveals one's deepest aspirations. The happiest person will see themselves.

Political jargon: There is no such thing as good or evil. Voldemort is the only source of power.

Purity of Blood: Harry is the youngest seeker in the Quidditch match because "It is in your blood," as the saying goes. However, Harry must work hard to establish his value because this is insufficient. 'Choices' are made by Harry. His future is in his hands. Because of this, even Sorting Had is unable to sort him into Slytherin House; instead, he is sorted into Gryffindor House via pure willpower. There is more value in "making decisions" and willpower than in blood.

Foreshadowing: Voldemort enters Harry Potter's heart as a cloud of smoke.

Moral Action: LOVE is one of the most potent forces in the universe; only those who desire but do not desire to utilize for their own profit receive the stone (power, gift, genius). This love, when combined with "sacrifice," has the potential to either make one eternal or protect life from the gravest perils. Lily, Harry's mother, gave herself up out of love for her son. In a game of chess, Ron is willing to give himself up for the benefit of others. The mix of cool use of intelligence (Hermione), willingness to give up everything (Ron), willingness to stand up to friends (Neville), and pure nerve and extraordinary fortitude (Harry) is ultimately what determines who wins.
